Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon during which the person wakes up unable to move when most often the experience is accompanied by threatening figures in the room that sometimes even attack the sleeping person and sometimes the person experiences himself hovering over his physical body lying in bed.
In 1992, I began to experience terrifying sleep paralysis very frequently. The lack of knowledge that existed in those years led me to try and independently investigate these experiences. Starting with medicine, psychiatry, non-Western cultures and mystical teachings, over the years I have been able to get a complete picture of this fascinating phenomenon and its potential.
In 2012, during my studies in psychotherapy, I wrote my first research paper on the subject in which I proposed a therapeutic method for dealing with sleep paralysis.
Since it took me ten years to dare to share what I am experiencing with others, I see raising awareness of the field as a personal mission, with the aim that the general public and mental health professionals will be familiar with the phenomenon.
After over a decade of social initiatives and lectures, awareness of the subject has increased slightly and I continue to act and provide a response to those who experience sleep paralysis.
